Its a soggy-fun day!

Today was a typical Saturday for me. I got up same time as always, got ready, and headed into work. We were actually pretty busy today, which was nice because it helps make the day go by faster. Instead of getting off, coming straight home, and doing absolutely nothing-I met up with my friend Christy at her house and we hung out for about four hours tonight, which was a good day to do so. Although it was raining-we both had a good time catching up, and reminiscing about the good 'ole days. She is actually about to have her first baby, a girl, and she is due June 6th. It's exciting to see your friends you grew up with happy and starting their family-maybe one day I'll join in on that parade.:)

Next Friday, my friend Amanda and I are going to Savannah for a campus tour of Armstrong. I really don't care to go on this campus tour, but, for moral support, I'll go with her. I'm actually hoping that I'll be able to get advised by someone, so I can go ahead and register for classes. I still haven't decided if I want to go this summer, or just wait until the fall. She and I also plan to be roommates, and move into an apartment over there. We're both new at this, and we're ready to leave the nest. It'll be a great experience for us both. Tough the commute is closer for me-I still want to move over there. I'm just a bit skeptical about quitting my job, or maybe transferring to one of the stores in Savannah.

For those that read my blog, y'all are probably starting to wonder when I'm going to get it together... hopefully, after some decisions are made, whether I like them or not, life might start taking me in the right direction (and not always in circles-which appears to be the theme of my life right now).

My thoughts

Now that I feel like my world has been turned upside down-I find myself writing less and less on here. The transaction and changing of routines have been quiet a dowse for me. Days like today, when I'm off from work and school, I would normally spend the majority of my time at my brothers house. Now that the family is gone-I've been very lonely. Times like this make me sit back and think. I think about all the times where I used to enjoy something we all call "life." I'm not saying that I don't have a "life," don't get me wrong, but the "life" I'm familiar with no longer exists. With that fact, I find myself wishing I could go back in time and erase some things that happened three years ago, such as the lose memories with me and my gang from high school. I miss those days more and more each day! We were a tight group, and I honestly believe that if I didn't let my emotions get the best of me at that point in time-things would be differently now. Luckily for me, I'm beginning the process that I'm going to call "recovery mode." I stopped by the Berry Patch today looking to buy a wallet, but secretly, I stopped there just to catch up with an old best friend of mine (not knowing that she would actually be at work). We ended up talking for a good twenty minutes before she realized that she'd better get back to work. They didn't have what I wanted so I walked out empty-handed, but not so much empty-handed if you know what I mean.

Today I purchased my airfare ticket! I'm so excited to have have past me... now I can't wait for June 20th to get here. My trip to Ontario will more than likely be boring, but I'm sure JT and Jordan will make me think otherwise when the time arises.

It's been an entire week since my brother and his family moved to Ontario, Canada. It's quiet depressing, if you ask me. This whole transaction has been extremely hard on me. No offense to my brother and sister-in-law, but I miss my JT and Jordan more than ANYTHING and ANYONE in this world-all I want is for them to be back at home with me in Georgia! I actually talked with both JT and Jordan on the phone Wednesday. I was VERY excited, I may add! JT was more into watching his cartoons, but Jordan on the other hand, she talked my ears off.:) At one point she asked me, "can I come to your house?" As you can imagine those words shattered my heart, and I began to tear up-the fact of reality is, it's not so simple anymore for me to just walk into my backyard to get her when she wants me to. :'( Why did this have to happen?

Despite all of my heartache, I'm actually graduating next Friday from Waycross College. The degree in itself isn't all that important, but its a stepping stone for me to get the one that does matter. I decided that I will not be walking across that stage because graduation just wouldn't be the same without my brother there to see me, so I'll be getting my diploma via mail. I have also decided that I am going to double major in Business Administration as well as Interior Design. Hopefully something works out for me, and I can get out of Georgia and move on with my life (hint: move closer to my JT and Jordan).

Goodbyes

Why are goodbyes SO hard? It broke mine and my parent's hearts today as we had to say our goodbyes to my brother, sister-in-law, and especially JT and Jordan. Today was the first time I think I ever saw my dad cry. Those little ones mean everything to us, and knowing that we probably won't see them a whole month out of the year now tears me into millions of pieces. As we were giving out our huges and kisses Jordan asks me, "why is nanny crying?" They truly have no idea that their world is being turned upside down. I actually talked with JT on the phone tonight and he asked me, "why was you crying?" He is a smart little boy, and he knows that something is happening but he doesn't really know what that something is... All he knows is that he is going to go stay with grandma and grandpa for a while. JT told my mom a few weeks back when she asked him if he would miss us, and he responded, "yeah, but nanny we're coming back soon." Can you just imagine how that feels?! Today is one day I wish NEVER came.

Their last Saturday in Georgia

Today is actually my brother and his family's last weekend living here in Georgia, so we tried to keep it a fun day. For the majority of us our day started around seven in the morning. My brother and sister-in-law was having a final "move away" yard sale, so of course I had to try to make a bit of money myself-$36 at that; I'm high rolling. Lol. The yard sale was well-worth having, as they made quiet a bit of money for their things. The morning started out a bit cold, but warmed up quickly. It was hot! I got quiet the sunburn while I was sitting out there helping them sale, and playing with the kids.

Later that evening we all went out eat. Since my brother has never been to Benton Lee's we decided to dine out there. We sat near the back in a room that connected to the deck that looked over the river right behind us. April took JT and Jordan out to view the family riding their boat up and down the river. Not long after they went outside I figured I would join them. JT was so excited about it all. He was standing on the picnic bench, and I think he thought he could have a better view by moving over to the next table. That proved to be a horrible idea. As he jumped off one bench, he was trying to run, stumbled, and banged his head on the other table. It happened so fast-nobody could prevent it from happening! SO, let's just say that Benton Lee's is one place to be remembered and it's not for their good food-it's for JT's bloody nose and black eye. The picture below was actually taken a few days after his fall.

Opening Day

Opening Day it was indeed! :) Yesterday proved to be quiet an adventurous day for my mom and I, and not to mention-quiet frustrating at times too. What seemed to be a pretty reasonable time leaving for Atlanta turned out to be my worst nightmare. Due to my mom having to work half the day, we didn't get to leave until 1pm. We really didn't encounter any traffic problems along our way, well, up until we got on the other side of Macon. At that point everything just started going downhill. We was stuck in traffic for an hour solid on I-75, and once we got to the Turner Field exit it was around 5:30pm (which was still pretty good timing given the fact). Finding a parking spot was UNREAL! I became very ill because of the SLOW pace traffic. We ended up making two HUGE circles in order to get a spot to park, and that was because all the private lots were full and the Braves lots was for permits only! Needless to say, this opening day experience wasn't at all what I was hoping for-especially when I didn't get to my seat until the bottom of the THIRD inning! I had high hopes going into this being it's my third straight home opening game. Although this "adventure" had its many cons it also had just as many pros, and I enjoyed myself overall. :)

When I finally got to my seat and saw just how great of a view I had all that frustrating seemed to drift out of mind. I personally thought I had scored some of the best seats in the house, which I may add, the game was sold out with an attendance of 48,327. So, as I found my seat and got settled in-all of a sudden with one swing of Escobar's bat the game turned in Atlanta's favor. He hit a 3-run shot putting the Braves on top 3-1. I got to see pretty much the entirety of the bottom of the third inning, and when it came to the top of the fourth with one man on for the Nationals and one at the plate, with a 3-2 count, the umpire's called for the tarps. At that point the Braves game was in a rain delay, which came out to be 2 hours long. During the rain delay there was quiet a hail storm (2 I may add). The weather was horrible (maybe this video can give y'all some kind of an idea)! It looked like pure snow falling.

After the rain delay, the Braves resumed action at 10:40pm. Unfortunately, the rain delay forced Derek Lowe out of the game and in came Buddy Carlyle. The game was awesome! Although, at times, the Braves bullpen would allow the Nats to either tie up or take the lead, they wouldn't let that put a damp on their game play. The bottom of the seventh inning finally came around a little after 12am. As much as I would have loved to stay and watch the entire game-I made myself get up, so my mom and I could start heading home (at this point it was 12:30am). I, of course, listened to the game as I was driving home. Due to a blown save by Gonzales in the ninth inning-this home opening game wasn't over yet. When the bottom of the tenth inning rolled around Jordan Schafer lead the inning off with a single, the next two were quickly retired, and Kelly Johnson was up to bat. He stroked a solid single to right. With Schafer's speedy-self, he slide across home plate with the walk-off winning run at 1:25am. The final score was Braves 6-Nationals 5.

So, like I was saying, the day definitely had its cons but luckily the pros outweighed them all. :) I got home around 4:15am, and with only 3.5 hours of sleep it was time to get back up and get ready for a seven hour day at work.

Excited

Excitement just sums it all up for me. The Braves were awesome in last nights season opener. Derek Lowe went 8 innings in his first start for the Braves, only giving up two hits and no runs. Braves won the game with a 4-1 score! :o) Today I purchased my home opener tickets-section 207! I'm thinking they're going to be some pretty good seats, and I can't wait to get out in that atmosphere.

Today after work I headed over to Waycross for class. Class was pretty boring due to our lab. I'm not too fond of dissecting squid and clams, so yeah, class was a drag. As soon as I got home I was greeted with a BIG smile on Jordan's face. She was SO excited that she couldn't wait to tell me her news. She got her ears pierced!

SO here is the story-For the last few weeks now Jordan has been telling me that she wanted her ears pierced. This came about when she would sit there and watch me take my earrings out of a night. She'd want me to put them in her ears, and I would constantly tell her that they wouldn't go in (and that she'd needed to tell her mama and daddy that she wanted them done). A few days later April tells me that out of the blue Jordan told her she wanted her ears done like mine. She just brushed it off... until it became an every day thing, so today April bit the bullet and took her. She told me that Jordan didn't cry, and she even picked out her own pair. :o)

So back to word excitement-like I said, the word just sums up the day for me.

My day

Today has been a pretty good day for me (despite some). I'm super excited that tomorrow is the FIRST game of the season for the Braves!! :o) I'm so excited that for the last few days I've stayed glued to the Internet trying to find me some good seats for the home opener Friday, April 10th. Yesterday I actually convinced my mom into going to the game with me... can you believe that I had to pretty much bribe her? I ended up telling her that I'll pay for it all if she'd come. Lol. Nothing is going to break my tradition! Well, hold that thought-today my brother tried to play daddy with me and tell me that I wasn't going to the game because they are having a "move away" party on the same day. A "move away" party?! Are you kidding me-who has those? I was so mad at him I stormed out, went straight to my car, and started cleaning it. He tried to come over to me and act all jolly, I told him to leave me alone, and I'd go by myself to the game. He expects me to drop my plans that I made last year around this time so he'd have his very own no expense babysitter. I honestly don't know how he'll survive without me and our mom. BUT anyways, back to that thought-my mom and I are going to the game and they moved their "lets get drunk-move away" party to that Saturday.

SO, when I was cleaning my car my dad came over and helped me. Afterwards, he and I got away from everyone and went to lunch. I love it when we do things together like that. Once our luncheon was over I had to head over to work, and boy were we busy. Today was nothing compared to what it'll be like next Saturday, the day before Easter.

Well, I guess I'll call it quits for tonight. Can't wait to see those Braves tomorrow night-hopefully our NEW ace Derek Lowe will dominate! :o)

It's been a while

So, it's been a while since my last post. All is going well. My brother and his family have officially moved in with me and my parents. They're hoping to clean out their place, and find a home buyer. It might be mean of me to say this, but deep down I hope their home doesn't sale... I don't want them to move 22 hours away from me, and for the record-they're leaving whether their place is sold or not. OH! Speaking of my brother, although this really doesn't have anything to do with him, I received my passport in Friday's mail. How exciting is that?!

I have an update on school. I've been thinking a lot here lately (as always), and I really don't want to be a medical major anymore. I'm actually thinking more on the line of Interior Designer. I've been hooked on HGTV here lately, and I get caught up in it every time. It looks like it'll be A LOT of fun, and plus-I used to want to do this before I got into the whole medical thing. My mom seems to think that it is the type of job that doesn't pay well, but she needs to STOP discouraging me and ENCOURAGE me a bit more! It's kind of annoying if you ask me. Money isn't everything. Although it will make me happy, a job that I ENJOY will make me more than happy (if you know what I mean). After the two hours of my eyes staying glued to the show (HGTV) I came straight to the computer to check out SCAD. That school would be awesome, maybe not in the best area in Savannah, but I'll get a degree and love what I'll be doing. I don't know though, we'll see. SCAD is actually the only school that I know of with that degree option... I may need to do some more research,and that's why I say "we'll see."

Well, I thought my blog deserved a bit of an update. I'm going to try to get on a more day-to-day thing, and keep it much more updated (and yes, hopefully with things that may be a bit more interesting-Lol).

MOVING DAY

This past weekend I was faced with more news about my brother and his family's move. He was telling my mom Sunday that he had to be up in Ontario by May 28th or else all their work expires, and he would be denied access to move. Well, that night I mentioned that to April, and she told me that their MOVING DAY is APRIL 25th!! I am SO UPSET with all this-it hurts! So, now I have around a month and a half with them-from now to then I'm going to be such an emotional wreck! I'm giving myself 3 years to graduate, and then come the summer when I'm 25 I'm going to move to the Buffalo, New York area so I'll be closer to my family.
